The Newark Project is a feature documentary (in post production). The film chronicles five years in Newark, NJ during one of the nations most turbulent fights for control of public schools.
The film spans from 2010 to 2015 and tells the story of a community mobilizing itself to resist the implementation of a school reform plan developed without input from those will be most impacted. We experience close up how education reform efforts play out in the lives of people in schools and communities.
BTB “Building Community in Schools” is a school organizing curriculum that uses storytelling as a tool to build empathy and trust among local school stakeholders, helping them identify common values to build, strengthen and nurture positive, sustainable relationships.
